I have completed my march piece for Sharon B’s Take it further challenge. I have created a little world where I can sit and enjoy the moment and contemplate the small details. See this post for my original thoughts on the challenge.

Playing with lines and shapes

I have been working this weekend on the class exercises for the Playing with Lines and shapes class I am taking with Lily Kerns at Quilt University. I grabbed some of the bright scraps sitting by my sewing table from another project I am working on and embellished the piece with beads and a charm. It was a lot of fun to work on. I struggled with the binding on this piece and after the third redo just left it alone. It is frustrating that a little task like this that I have done hundreds of times before can still trip me up. So far these class pieces have all been done in a 4″ x 6″ format but I am hoping to develop one of them into a larger scale piece.
